Originally from Liverpool. I moved to London to build a career in finance. Through the years, my career has evolved from equity sales in various Asian markets to corporate broking / private equity capital raising and compliance / anti-money laundering. I also mentor graduates and young professionals seeking entry into financial services careers.
I have two children who never cease to inspire and energise me.
As a London Red Badge tour guide, qualified scuba diver, keen sailor and skier, I enjoy being busy and ensuring that I never stop learning.
In 2005, I was Parliamentary Spokesman and General Election candidate for the Parliamentary constituancy of Erith and Thamesmead. In 2006 I fought the Tower Hamlets Ward of Bethnal Green South.
The City of London, its people, buildings and institutions are a great love of mine. I am a member of Tower and Portsoken Ward Clubs and was Master of Tower Ward Club 2006/07.
I am a Freeman of the City of London and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Makers of Playing Cards (founded 1628).
Additionally, I am an experienced after dinner speaker specialising in City of London finance and historical topics.
I enjoy walking in the Peak and Lake District and other beautiful spots in the UK, economic and political debates, and discovering London’s best kept secrets – especially the ones with a hearty, cheap lunch!
